Day 01: Your favourite song

It's so hard to pick THAT one favourite song out of a hundred. But if I had to, I would say Kate Voegele's "Wish you were here" is one of my favourite favourites. I love her voice so much and her lyrics are so amazing. She is just brilliant ♥

"It ain't hard to see
Who you are underneath
I'm still in love with who I wish you were
And I wish you were here"

it's gettin hot in here...

...so take off all you clothes. I can tell you, I would have loved to take off my clothes yesterday. It was sooooooo hot that even the air conditioning in our store was unable to cope the heat. But thanks to the weather god it was raining all night and it's possible to move without sweating again :)
Due to the weather yesterday I was wearing this outfit:

my favourite right now: the fishbone braid (kind of messy yesterday)
maxi skirt: Forever 21
shirt, top, vest: New Yorker
bag: H&M
bracelet: Forever 21
ring: I am
leather chain: New Yorker #new

Those of you, who have read my payoff on sunday may have read that I was supposed to be on a Black Eyed Peas-concert yesterday. But I had to learn once more that bubbles burst so fast. I had to work yesterday and my friends didn't want to wait for me til I leave off work and went there alone. I was sooo sad, especially while reading all there status messages on facebook yesterday ("Oh, it's so cool here!", "We're standing in the first row!!!", "Best concert I've ever been to"...). Don't get me wrong, I'm happy for them. But it's so sad because I was supposed to be there, too :(

But enough for now, I will have breakfast now and then will spend my day off with wiriting job application, hooray!!! I'm so NOT looking forward to it, especially because I have now idea where and for what kind of job I should apply. So I'm thankful for all your lovely ideas (I studied chinese and translatin by the way ;D).

Love, Vanessa

my weekly payoff... back for good

My wedding marathon is over, so I finally have time again for my weekly payoff.

1. I'm done with weddings this year - hopefully. I've been to a Kurdish wedding yesterday which was quite exciting (I will tell you about that in one of my next posts).

2. YES, I will see The Black Eyed Peas live in concert on Tuesday and I'm so excited about it.

3. I rediscovered my passion for cooking in the last few weeks. I like! I guess my scale won't like it that much ;D

4. I Sale. And because it's sale everywhere right now, I spent a lot of time with shopping the last few days (there will be a post about my haul tomorrow).

5. I love reading and right now I'm so addicted to the "House of night"-series.

6. I started to watch FRIENDS again and have to admit that it is one of the best sitcoms I've ever watched. Love them!

7. Without words

Hope you all had a great weekend and will have a better start tomorrow - summer will be back :)

I'm still alive, although my wedding marathon is going on...

... and on, and on. I'm so sorry that I don't really have the time to blog right now, but I'm so busy with all the weddings that I've visited this month and going to visit this weekend (yes, there are two more). There are dresses to buy, games and other stuff to prepare, presents to buy and so much other stuff. I'm so happy when it's all over. Don't get me wrong, I love weddings, but I'm so looking forward to spend a comfy Saturday on the sofa watching movies and blogging, blogging, blogging. Til then, you have to get along with the some photos of the last few weeks. Hope you like them.
I also wanted to let you know guys, that I'm reading all your lovely comments and I really appreciate them. Don't be mad if I don't answer them right now, but I will...hopefully next week. KISS.

Yummy, yummy, yummy I got love in my tummy

New York = different cultures = dilicious food. It was just sooooo good! It didn't take pictures of all the food we had, but we really tried everything. We did it the American way with burgers and fries, the Mexican way with burritos, the Asian way with DimSum and a Korean BBQ, and we had German patatoes at the Steakhouse "Wolfgang's" (which you really should try when you're staying in New York). All in all it were 10 yummy days!

a paradise for those who love Arizona icetea

New York - Chinatown

Between working, birthdays and weddings I finally managed to sort all the photos I took in New York, so I want to show you the best in some posts today and tomorrow. Hope you enjoy them as much as I do!

Hi there, Upper East Bloggers...

Gossip Girl here. Top story on this blog: Vanessa spent a night at the museum. But she wasn't spotted alone. The King of Queens was with her and might have given her some gum-gum. And where is she now? She might be sitting in traffic on the Queensboro Bridge tonight, who knows? And who am I? That's one secret I'll never tell. You know you love me. XOXO, Gossip Girl.

I ♥ New York!!!

the way back

Me and my boyfriend went to the sneak preview yesterday. We haven't been there for quite a lont time, so I was really excited about it. Some of you might remember that we saw "Never let me go" the last time we went to a sneak preview and I didn't like it that much (click here to read more).

Yesterday they showed the movie "The way back" with Jim Sturgess (21), Ed Harris (A beautiful mind, The Hours), Saoirse Ronan (Atonement, Hanna) and Colin Farrell (Daredevil, In Bruges). The movie is about a group of men that got arrested in a Siberian camp during the Second World War. Fortunately they could escape from the camp and have to make their way from Siberia to Mongolia. They hope to be free again in Mongolia, but as they come to pass the Mongolian border they have to realize that like Russia Mongolia is ruled by the communists, too. Because they are afraid to get arrested by the Mongolian communists they decide to cross China, the Himalaya and Tibet to get to British India. The movie shows their escape from Siberia to Britsh India which is quite hard because they have to fight against hunger, thirst, wheather and death.

I'm a really big fan of movies that are based on true story and so is this one. I think it is a great movie with great actors and a great story. The thing I liked most about the movie are the incredible pictures of the landscape they cross during their escape. The mountains of the Himalaya, the Lake Baikal, the Great Wall and the desert in Mongolia. And it seems that the movie wants to tell their audience that which goal you ever set yourself, you can reach it. I really liked the movie and it's worth to see.

At our cinema you can always win something before the movie starts. Usually they raffle movie posters but yesterday they were also raffeling this jacket.

And guess who was the lucky winner AGAIN!?!? Yes, my boyfriend :D We won a poster last time, too. And this time he was the lucky winner of this Hangover 2 jacket and a Scream-poster. So all in all, it was a really great evening!

Vanessa ♥
